Oncidium hybrids are an easy, forgiving group of orchids perfect for those who tend to like watering their plants more frequently. They grow well in a wide variety of conditions which vary depending on the cultivar, though generally prefer medium-bright indirect light. Psychopsis Mendenhall 'Hildos' is an intermediate level collector's Onc. hybrid with mottled leaves and a characteristic orange and yellow butterfly flower. They prefer warm, humid conditions and like to be potted in coarser bark than many other Oncidium hybrids to prevent root rot. They are sequential bloomers meaning they will re-bloom many times from the same flower spike, sometimes for several years. Often they stay in bloom or spike for many months.
